Abby
Winters is at twenty-six years, relatively young to have so firm a grasp
on her artistic vision. But she candidly admits that she knows what she
likes, knows what she wants, and most important, knows how to make it
happen. Living in Sydney, Australia, she has worked as a photographer for
only two years now. Her education prepared her well though - she earned a
Bachelor's degree in Technical Theatre Production and worked in the
theatre industry for eight years doing lighting for the stage as well as
concerts and festivals.
Since she decided to enter the profession of photography, specifically to
shoot nudes the way she thinks they should be done, she has amassed a
gigantic and spectacular body of work. Her models are all hand-picked by
her and photographed in such a way as to enhance the subject's natural
beauty. And she does this without resorting to all the glamour tricks
(touch-ups, big hair, silly scenarios, impractical lingerie, absurd
locations, oiled bodies, etc) that she finds so over-used in the
profession. Her work ethic, self determination, and personal style have
won her legions of fans the world over .... and she's just getting
started.
Editor's Note: The images displayed in this exhibit are much larger that
our standard format. Abby was adamant that her images be shown just like
they are at her website: large and razor-sharp. We happily acquiesced.
