Roger
Tassin
Born
into the jungles of the Congo, Roger later moved back to France and has
been an avid photographer for over twenty years. Original influences were
Jean Loup Sieff and Ralph Gibson but he has gone on to become quite a
student of all the great photographers.
Roger has an interesting philosophy when it comes to his nude and erotic
work. He typically only works with close friends of his, feeling that this
eliminates any unnecessary complexities that can exist between
photographer and model. He considers knowing his subject so crucial that
he decided to create a series of self-portraits, which are displayed here.
As he relates, "All of these pictures have for me, the delicious
taste of the good times which are no longer there, and I alone jealously
retain the visual trace. While reviewing these photo souvenirs, I wish
that my viewers have as much pleasure as I had in living them".
