Penthouse
Penthouse magazine began publication in 1965 in England and in North America in 1969. Publisher, Bob Guccione showcased content that was much more explicit than its rival publication, Playboy, and garnered fame for showing its model's pubic area, vagina, and anus. Much of the early photography was shot by Guccione himself who had a background in painting, not photography. This helps explain the soft, painterly look to his material in the early years.
Guccione died in 2010. Penthouse is now owned owned by FriendFinder Network.
