Andrzej
Pilichowski-Ragno was born in Rome in 1967. His mixed heritage, Polish and
Italian, has afforded him a unique perspective on the world and his art.
Indeed, his exhibitions are largely split between Italy and Poland along
with a few other exhibits in Switzerland and Slovakia. Currently he
teaches photography at the Cracow School of Design.
Much of Andrzej's work has a dark quality to it. He wraps his subjects up
in shadow and darkness leaving their bodies partially hidden, but does not
orchestrate it so that they appear to be hiding. They are revealed by the
light only so much as Andrzej wishes to allow. And only to the extent of
achieving what Andrzej seeks to communicate. It is a very interesting
series of fine art portraiture.
