G.
E. Morton
Although
a hobby photographer for over 20 years, shooting primarily landscapes and
street scenes, G. E. Morton moved to nudes and professional status in 1999
with the launch of his well-regarded Web site, Dionysian
Archives.
"Human beings are the most challenging subject matter a photographer
can take on," Morton says, "because they have so many facets and
personas. Women are at once nurturers, sirens, witches, goddesses, and a
hundred other things besides. Glimpse them at one moment and behold
innocent beauty; look again and see the brazen seductress, or the
protective mother. That's why I like to shoot a series of a model, or even
several series, so that I can come a little closer to capturing the whole
person. Some shots can aim at capturing the model's formal beauty; others
her sensuality, still others the playful child. I run an erotic website,
and the series I shoot for the site must concentrate on sensuality. But I
never entirely ignore the model's other dimensions."
