Eric
Kroll
If there is a single most dominant influence in American erotica today, it
might very well be Mr. Eric Kroll. His sphere of influence is legendary
and photographers around the world pay homage by deeming him as their
primary inspiration. His very name is synonymous with artistic erotica,
especially fetish erotica.
With potent style Eric has created a body of work over the last three
decades that is so sensual, so brawny, so in-your-face, that its genius
cannot be denied. He has almost single-handedly dragged fetishism from the
bedroom closet and propped it under the spotlight of pop culture. But Eric
himself would be the first to admit that he is only part of a larger
legion of fetish artists. He has even written about and chronicled those
that he considers mentors including Elmer Batters, Eric Stanton, Bunny
Yeager, Betty Page, and John Willie's . Nonetheless, Eric's role in the
popularization of the genre cannot be overemphasized.
After working as an art dealer and freelancing for Spiegel, Vogue, and
Elle, Eric started to specialize in erotic and bondage photography. He
published his first book, Sex Objects in the early 1970's. It was a
smash hit at the time and placed him at the center of growing storm in
fetish art. Since then, his photo exhibitions and book releases, which
include Fetish Girls, Beauty Parade, and The Transformations of
Gwen, have secured him legendary status. He's even created what may be
the internet's premier fetish website.
