Ashley
Fontenot is a pretty young woman transplanted from her roots in Baton
Rouge, Louisiana, and now living in Los Angeles, California. She has been
doing digital photography for over 3 years, and says she's been shooting
non-stop, arranging at least 2-3 shoots per week. She says that the moment
she picked up a digital camera she was hooked and began photographing
everything: flowers, friends and the occasional stuffed monkey. Then she
turned her camera in the direction of a cute girl... and her path was set.
She's always felt strong connections with sexuality, women, and darker
imagery, so it made sense that she would eventually end up there
artistically.
Ashley has little formal training in photography. She admits to taking
some college courses but quickly dropped out of each of them. As she
relates, "I became bored with the required assignments and I wanted
to shoot naked girls. The professors were never as keen on that idea as I
was." She decided that following her own inner voice would prove more
rewarding. Creating beautiful images of unique women makes her feel
complete, she says, and maintains that it is what her life is all about
right now. It's her obsession ... and a beautiful obsession it is. She has
already done several gallery showings, as well as other events and
magazine covers.
