Terry
became captivated with photography when he discovered the magic of depth
of field with an old Olympus range finder as an early teen. Moving up to a
Miranda REII and then to a Nikon FE in high school, he spent many years
experimenting in the darkroom and always had a camera at his side. Soon, a
marriage and children came along and the camera gathered dust. When life
changed again, he picked up the camera to help with the stresses of a
career as a network engineer and a divorce after 16 years of marriage. He
has been enthusiastically shooting for the past four years and worked with
over a hundred models from Hawaii to Cancun and prefers working with
natural light without reflectors or flash. Living in the Pacific Northwest
presents a challenge with lighting during the dark murky winter days.
Shooting with a number of cameras, from his main workhorse the Nikon D1x,
to a Holga and many vintage cameras, Terry is not married to any
particular medium. “Let there be light” and Terry will capture the
beauty of a woman."
