Chapman
Eric
is a husband, father, photographer and musician. He also has dual degree
in Botany and Geography from Miami University of Oxford, Ohio. He is
currently attempting to get his photography business off the ground, and
hopes soon to be included in a "coffee-table" photography collection. He would
love to have his own book published.
Eric began shooting as a teenager, but didn’t
become obsessed with the
camera until he was in his thirties. It’s the ability of a photograph to precipitate
laughter, tears, anger, melancholy, desire, shame, joy, transcendence, memory,
regret, inspiration, pleasure, and contemplation that most draws him to create
visual imagery.
While he does create imagery in many different genre’s, such
as landscape and nature, architecture, and musical performance, his most overwhelming
fascination is with the feminine form. Eric feels that “all the great mysteries
are hidden there in the lines and curves, the shadows, the textures and the tones
of the female body. They’re all goddesses in their own way. Some women wear it
outwardly, and are completely at ease with their beauty. Sometimes the beauty
within is just waiting to be released. Having the honor of working with that
beauty and helping to portray or release it is the most rewarding job anyone
could have. To me there’s nothing more beautiful, alluring, or inspiring.
On
the technical side of photography Eric says, "I tend to make up the rules as
I go - and disobey them more often than not. I’m seldom worried about whether
something is "technically" correct or not, I just know how I
want it to look.
