Michael
Wylot
Michael Wylot has been a
professional photographer for many years and works in various genres
including portraiture, fashion, architecture, as well as more artistic
ones such as landscape and fine art figure photography. His studio is
located in Philadelphia and he works with various camera formats ,though
says he prefers 35mm because of a greater lens selection. Michael has
participated in numerous shows in Philadelphia and has been published in
several books and magazines such as Graphis
Nudes 3, and American Photo Magazine.
Fine art figure nudes are a core element of his personal work. All are
created traditionally with film and printed in the wet darkroom. Final
prints are split toned to create a reddish brown tone to the figure. He
prefers using grainy film to create the painterly or impressionistic
quality to his photographs and his use of lighting creates the mood,
texture, allure, and mystical quality that he so loves. His greatest
influences are Edward Weston, Bill Brandt, Herb Ritts, Lucien Clergue, and
Robert Farber.
