Wheeler
Jim
Wheeler is a photographer from Tulsa, Oklahoma. He was born in 1944 and
grew up using a Kodak Brownie. When he was twenty-one he bought a
German-made Kodak Retina SLR and spent the next four years shooting black
& white images, processing, and printing. Then, he put his camera away
in his desk drawer and left it there for many year save for an occasional
snapshot. He found himself devoted to his family and his non-photographic
career, and this left no room for art.
Many years later, when his children had finally grown, he bought a Minolta
X-700 and begin to shoot again. He now considers himself a serious hobby
photographer, intent on improving his work. And find the nude form one of
the most challenging and interesting subjects.
