Martin
Tsien
Martin was was born in
Taipei, Taiwan. He's the youngest of four children. In 1973 he and his
family emigrated to New York. That was also the year that he received a
Kodak Pocket Instamatic 60 with Magi-Cube flash for his birthday. It made
him see the world in a totally new perspective and he's been taking pictures
ever since. He graduated from Baruch College in New York with a degree
in Advertising, and for the past ten years has worked for major
advertising agencies as a production manager in New York
City.
Martin says that he considers Helmut Newton, Alfred Stieglitz, and Sally
Mann as the biggest influence on his photography. Martin says that his
photographs mirror his dreams, and his photographs are meant to invite,
tantalize, and draw the viewer into that dream of his, into his mind's
eye.
