Marco
Tenaglia
I was born in Rome,
Italy in 1971 and am still based here. My grandfather bought for me my first camera, a Polaroid 70, when I was 10
years old and I was very happy with it. I never thought of becoming a
professional photographer ... like a lot of children dreamed of becoming a football
player or Formula 1 racer. I studied mechanical engineering in school but
also developed an incredible passion for photography during this period. The last present from my Grandfather before he left this life (God bless him) was a Nikon AF601... well, after a little period of self training in photography, I left the university and I joined the high institute of photography.
My passion for the beautiful creatures of God brought me to shoot women and landscapes.
During school I participated in local photography exhibits and went on to
collaborate with a national photography magazine. My curiosity and great love for
the USA led to my traveling to America to visit my best friend. This led
to a two year stay where I traveled back and forth between New York, Massachusetts, Connecticut and
even back to Europe. That fantastic time gave me the opportunity to study the different cultures between USA and
Europe. This also afforded time to experiment with the many different
photographic genres. I did some fashion photography and some artistic
oriented work for an Italian magazine. This latter assignment convinced me
of my love for the artistic side of this medium.
