Artur
Soltysiak
A
Registered Nurse and amateur photographer living in Poznan, Poland, Artur
Soltysiak remembers quite vividly his revelation that photography could be
both sensual and innocent. It struck a chord within him. This event took
place while on a trip to London, England in 1999 at a bookshop near
Leicester Square. It was there that he discovered David Hamilton's book, The
Age of Innocence. Never before had he experienced such an exciting
synthesis of sensual beauty and human purity. It was inspiring and it
motivated him to take up photography as a means of artistic
expression.
Artur eventually picked up a Nikon F60 camera, started to arrange
sessions with local models, and continued to study the work of master
photographers such as David Hamilton and Jan Saudek. His background in
medicine has given him both a confident appreciation of the human body as
well as a professional means to communicate his desires when working with
his models. Something that is paramount for a photographer developing his
own vision.
