Jean-Sébastien
Rossbach
Jean-Sébastien
Rossbach is a professional designer illustrator in France. He draws
inspiration from a variety of sources but is especially aroused by the
work of comic artists like Dave McKean, John Bolton, and Brom. He loves
the dark, brooding, gothic feel and thinks this is what ultimately led him
to his interest in fetish imagery. His work is a search for sexual and
lethal themes expressed through a "festival of colors" and
creative design and composition. The process used to create much of his
work involves a mixture of photography, painting and varied digital
effects. The most important element, however, is Rossbach injects a lot of
himself into his imagery. For example, one of the places he admits to
fearing the most is hospitals. When he discovered the hospital
fetishism that was inherent in several other photographers' work he
was shocked. Shocked but also inspired: he realized that beauty could be
found even in his fears.
