Dimitar
Petrov
Bulgarian
artist Dimitar Petrov works as an electrical engineer, but his passion
is fine art nudes. It's important to him that his photographs all have
a common style that is distinctly his own. The major element lending cohesion
to his work is that the setting itself plays equal part with the nude body.
Dimitar explains that a
nude body photographed in the neutral background of a studio is not what
he's call "a picture". He wants more. More involvement. He wants
his subjects to be proud of their nudity, to enjoy and play with the camera.
His photos often depict stories or situations that he has heard of,
read about, or seen someplace. He wants his photographs to tell
a story, to imply that something has just happened
... or is about to.
During the
last few years, Dimitar has organized several exhibitions of his nudes
in Bulgaria and he's also arranged numerous workshops devoted to nude photography
in a picturesque village on the sea coast not far from the city of Varna.
