Johnny
Olsen
Johnny
Olsen starting shooting film as a hobby in the late 80's while attending
Seton Hall university. His new interest soon began to take up more of his
attention and time and within a year, he decided to transfer to the School
of Visual Arts in New York City to pursue his love of the craft. From
there things really started to take off. He soon traveled across the
country to shoot landscapes of the American west. He ended up in
California. Shortly after arriving, he was approached by a friend who was
in need of actor headshots and asked him if he photographed people. He
replied "no". She countered, "I'll pay you". The rest
is history.
Living in Los Angeles caused Johnny to realize that he had to capitalize
on its market. He began a campaign to photograph beautiful women. His work
was well received and he quickly found himself shooting for Rouze.com
(which was soon bought up by Playboy). Johnny says "shooting for
Rouze was great, I had a great budget to do what I wanted to achieve and a
great crew with me at all times. The end result is still the finished
product despite budgets, crews or lack thereof. My shooting style is
remarkably simple. I almost exclusively use natural light for my shoots
with no reflectors, fill cards, silks etc. Many people don't believe me,
but I guess that means that I'm doing something right. If one can't
produce stunning images with just the basics, then, no amount of equipment
can help."
Johnny officially launched his membership site CandyDreams.com
in February of 2001. It features many of the beautiful women that he's
worked with over the last few years in Los Angeles. Johnny is currently
shooting for a new magazine "Perfection" which features
naturally beautiful nude women from around the globe.
