Richard
Murrian
Richard Murrian is an American art photographer has
been working in Europe for
the last few years. There's a much greater degree of freedom in Europe,
he maintains, and attitudes about nudity and art are a lot more liberal
and healthy. The young woman is his primary focus of study and his
work has earned him legions of fans and admirers all over the world. "Working
with younger models is considerably less controversial over here." Richard explains. "My work seeks to challenge this idea that
feminine sensuality suddenly emerges in a girl the morning of her 18th
birthday. A young woman is a developing sensual being from the moment she
leaves adolescence. While the taboo may be as politically incorrect in
modern-day America as interracial erotica was fifty years ago, it is
nonetheless, a subject of timeless fascination and fantasy that will never
go away as long as beautiful young girls, and those sensitive enough to
recognize and admire their unique and transient beauty, exist."
Richard has already published his work in several magazines and has
shown his photos at galleries in both North America and Europe. He
published his first book, Reanna's
Diaries in 2004, to astounding acclaim. and released his
second in May, 2006, See Me Feel Me. He cites
David Hamilton and Robert Farber as major influences and is also
particularly inspired by the Pre-Raphaelite painters, most notably
Leighton and Bouguereau. His vision of beauty is grounded in the
philosophy shared by many of the world's great artists yet his work
is undeniably his own. With a unique and deft mixture of shadow and
light his swanlike young subjects illuminate each of his prints as
though they were celestial beings.
