Dave
Miller
Dave
Miller started in photography at age ten when his mother gave him his
first camera. He's photographed weddings, boat races, horse races,
mountain climbers, models, actors, just about anything that involved
people. He also worked at a photo lab in a national chain for fourteen
years.
He got away from cameras and photography for about 13 years as he
pursued other interests in the computer arenas. During this time he also
became a professional life model for a variety of local colleges and art
institutions. When he returned to photography in June of 2001 he found
that his other interests (computers and figure modeling) had tremendous
impact on his photography. Today Dave shoots strictly with Digital
Cameras. First with Olympus e-10's and now with the Canon Digital Rebel.
His years of modeling for artists and art professors have had a obvious
impact on the way he photographs the human form.
His studio is located in
the Niagara Arts and Cultural Center in Niagara Falls, NY. Keeping him
involved with artists in a wonderful art community. Dave also runs regular
open drawing forums for artists to enhance their art through interpretation
of the human form. Some photographers take pictures of flowers or
mountains, for Dave taking pictures of people is his high! His work is a
celebration of the beauty in the shape and form of the human body... male
or female.
