Ben
Marcato was born in the heart of Germany's Ruhr-district in the year 1951.
After the completion of his engineering studies, he took an interest in
photography as an artistic device to study the human condition. Since 2000
he has worked semi professionally as a photodesigner. Blessed with a
technical background, he works with analog as well as digital cameras and
uses various types of lighting, both natural as well flash. His pictures,
he says, are not shaped by the typical concepts of glamour, but rather
focus on individual human beings and their particular emotions and
idiosyncrasies. His photographs reflect the contemporary conception of
human beings themselves in a free emancipated world. Images are therefore
created with people who want to participate in expressing their view of
life, their feelings and interests in an intense photographic dialogue.
