Joe
Farace
Joe
Farace is not only one of America's great photographers, he is also one of
the nation's greatest contributors to the profession as a whole and art
form that is photography. He is the author of more than
twenty books on photography, digital imaging,
and computing, including The
Photographer's Digital Studio from Peachpit Press. In addition,
Joe has produced a trilogy of digital imaging books for Allworth Press
including The
Digital Imaging Dictionary, The
Photographer's Internet Handbook, and Re-Engineering
the Photo Studio.
Joe has published more than 1300 magazine articles about photography,
digital imaging, and computing magazines and has been a regular
contributor to Shutterbug magazine since 1994, which publishes his monthly
Digital Innovations and Web Profiles columns. He was the
original editor of eDigitalPhoto magazine and continues as
Contributing Writer. His articles have also appeared in many other
magazines, including Desktop Publisher's Journal, Video, DigitalImager,
International Design (idn), Presentations, Dealerscope,
PC Photo, Photo Electronic Imaging (PDI), Photo Pro, PhotoStockNotes,
Professional Photographer, The Rangefinder, Studio
Photography & Design, and Technical Photography. When he's
not writing or shooting, Joe can be found teaching photography seminars or
speaking at various photography related conventions.
Joe studied engineering at Johns
Hopkins University and fine art photography at the Maryland Institute of
Art in Baltimore. The Professional Photographers of America awarded him
the degree of Photographic Craftsman and the Independent Photographs of
Colorado presented Joe with an Honorary Membership for "dedication
and service to the photographic community."
