Emslie
John
Emslie works as a freelance photographer in Winnipeg, Canada. His studio
is located in that city's historic Exchange District. He holds Masters
degrees in philosophy and theology from the University of Toronto. John
says that his personal work, at present time, is centered around a project
called The Ashes of Eve. The title he says, is emblematic of the
spiritual atmosphere of his female subjects. He work frequently
incorporates elements of symbolism and is loosely based around the concept
of "fallen sexuality", which John describes as the conflict
between ones feeling of physical lust and feeling of shame. Future
projects include an artist reference book and a publication of art essays.
