Roland
Cabon
After
having completed his studies in photography in Paris, Roland Cabon took
it up as a career, specializing in shooting architectural structures and
decoration objects. Photography eventually led him to another field, that
of graphic arts. Collaborating over the years with photography and design
studios as well as advertising agencies in Paris, Aix-en-Provence and
Montreal, he describes himself as being a "photographiste". From
art director to journalist to editor-in-chief, he always used
photography, his first trade, as a direct source for his writing and
consulting assignments. The idea of a pen name emerged and Roland Cabon
came into being in 2001.His series of nudes inspired Roland Cabon to make
a serious come-back to photography. To him, it was a journey back to the
strict basics; the images evoking the return to sheer simplicity: no
futile devices nor computer-generated special effects - just beauty
without any pretence, honoring the female body adorned simply by light and
shadow. His experience as a graphic artist is perceived in the studied
framing of each one of his compositions. Now, he is thinking to find a
editor for his nude work.
