Matt
Conrads
Matt
Conrads was born and raised in Germany, where he used to work as a photojournalist
for 14 years. His first pictures he took a the age
of nine years with a Zeiss Ikon Bellows camera (which still works
today). His background includes photo and travel journalism as well
as commercial, industrial, glamour, celebrities, fashion and portrait
photography. In 1996, Matt relocated to the US and became a US
citizen in 2001. Currently, he works as a commercial photographer and
graphic designer in Scottsdale/AZ.
Coming from the analog side with a very extensive darkroom expertise, Matt
completed the transition from film to digital several years ago. At the
same time, he brought his strong Photoshop background
to the desktop. He's been a Nikon user since 1977.
Matt's style has a strong European
influence and he is mostly inspired by the looks of beautiful women and
the beauty of locations all over this world.
And though he shoots a lot of studio work, his love is out in the open country
far away from the controlled environment, combining gorgeous models with
breathtaking
landscapes.
What Matt has been trying to achieve in his work has
always
been determined by getting noticed. That in itself means, that he is improving
his style frequently
and taking creative risks shoot after shoot. It is a permanent quest to awe the
audience with something new. Matt's work has been published
in numerous international publications (FHM and others) and also in the photography
book Erotique
Digitale, published in 2004.
