Bob
Carlos Clarke
was born in Ireland, June 1950. On leaving school he worked in journalism
and advertising before settling in England to study design at The West
Sussex College of Art. During his first year studies he developed an
interest in photography. This he continued to develop throughout his
subsequent studies at The London College of Printing, and finally The
Royal College of Art from which he graduated in 1975. He has worked in
almost every sphere of photography, winning numerous awards for
high-profile advertising campaigns, recognition for his photojournalism
and portraits of celebrities as well as international acclaim from
collectors of fine photographic prints. But as noted in his book, Shooting
Sex, which is largely autobiographical, his real love has always been
photographing nude women. It's more than a passion, Bob considers is
something akin to therapy. And the world is a better and much more
interesting place for it.
