Branson
Clive
Branson is a Creative Director for an advertising agency in Bermuda. He
was born in Barrie, Ontario in 1961, and has lived as an "army
brat" in Camp Borden, Quebec City, Germany, Toronto, England,
Montreal, Belgium, Ottawa, New York City, Toronto, and is presently
residing in Bermuda.
After graduating in photography from Parson's School of Design in 1984, he
worked as an assistant for a fashion photographer on Broadway. He returned
to Toronto where he worked as a Senior Art Director, a Copywriter, and as
an Assistant Creative Director with various advertising agencies. On a
freelance basis, he developed a roster of clients from Hawaii, Chicago,
Miami, Princeton, L.A., the Cayman Islands, Belfast, Brussels, Nice, and
London. The clients ranged from Disney & McDonalds to the AIDS
Committee of Toronto. His photography has been showcased at passionvillage.com
and artistdesign.com
and he is presently working on a book of his photography and writings
entitled, The Second Skin. It centers around photographing people's
interpretations of the emotional elements that comprise the word 'passion'
(i.e. love, lust, rage, sex, touch, power, obsession, etc).
Clive sums up who his influences have been by saying that they are Helmet
Newton's attitude; Leonard Cohen's view; Richard Branson's initiative; and
Burt Bacharach's style. His aspiration is to live and work in the south of
France.
