As
a jazz musician/photographer, I am constantly striving for that inspired
improvisation that exists, even in the best of times, only for brief and
fleeting moments.
In a musical performance, the improvisation is a reaction set off by the
combined playing of the individual musicians, creating a whole that can be
far greater than the sum of the individual parts.
In the case of a photographer and a model, the catalyst is the reaction
between the personalities. It is a combination of the thoughts and desires
of each person to create something amazing, and the actual physical
limitations imposed on us by our environment, our bodies, our technical
abilities and equipment.
My ultimate goal is to capture in photographs the rhythm of people...the
music that is inherent in all of us.
