This
is the fourth publication in the classic series from
Peter Lorenz known as Shaven Angels. Like its

photographer Peter Lorenz began his career as a
photographer of nudes, it was extremely difficult for
him to find models who were willing to shave their pubes
or who had already shaved them. In those days, it seemed
unusual and provocative. In most cases, people were
shocked by what they interpreted as a shameless display
of feminine lust, or else the shaven model was
immediately assumed to be a brazen prostitute. To show a
woman’s labia without hair was a breach of taboo.
But all that has changed now, thanks in no small part to
Mr. Peter Lorenz. Shaved genitals are almost normal now,
for both women and men. That’s unmistakable proof that
mainstream social development has caught up with this
artist. Lorenz and his fabled books are now the stuff of
