Pascal
Tarraire is a young French photographer of nudes,
portraits, and landscapes. He studied at the National
Art Photography school in Arles, France from 1996 to
1999. Corps Partages is his first book is
superbly packed, having been printed at Le Govic in
Nantes, France. It's 21x27cm, 130 pages and contains 59
black & white images, not only of nudes, but of some
very artistic as well as very erotic themes. Tarraire's
masterful use of light energize his pictures in a way
similar to many of the old-time masters. This work seems
almost out-of-time, like it's from a photographer who
lived and worked in the first half of the 20th century.
This is not at all to say this work is
"old-fashioned" but possesses are tranquil and
easy feeling to it that is so rare in these days of MTV
and cinematic cognition. It's a refreshing escape and a
beautiful book.
